Hello,
I imported a csv file which shows charges and balances. Under account history, it shows the outgoings as 'charges' but these are decreasing the credit card outstanding balance, not increasing. The running balance is going the wrong way.
It seems to be because the opening balance is showing on the 'payment' side rather than the negative side. I'm not starting from a zero balance so need there to be an opening balance
Any suggestions?
thanks,
Hi there acharalambous,
It's vital that your opening balance and all your transactions be entered correctly so that your credit card accounts can be well balanced. QuickBooks Online is a great tool that allows you to import transactions from your bank to save you time in entering them into your books. I can provide some information about opening balances.
If your credit card's opening balance is inverted, you may need to edit it to make sure it's positive instead of negative. You can find your opening balance transaction by navigating to the Accounting section, then Chart of accounts. Locate the credit card in question, then click on Account history to view the transactions affecting the account. Once you find the transaction within the list of transactions, you can click on it to open a menu to edit it and input the right amount.

Hello, thanks.
Unfortunately it won't let me change the negative to plus to reverse this. I've tried multiple times and it gives me an error that it has to be negative.
