Document Centre Search

When I open my document centre, it shows a list of many scanned and attached files.  When I use the search at the top of the window, it always comes up with "No results".  I can see the entries, and use the exact wording in the name or description and always come up with "No results". Why is it not finding the entries that are there?

Document Centre Search

Hey there BMB,

Adding attachments to transactions, or even attaching other documents within QuickBooks is an important functionality. I'm glad you've been playing around with the Doc Centre in order to navigate through the documents you've attached. I want to explore the way the search function works a little further.

I did some testing in my own QuickBooks account and came to the same conclusion that you did. I can type one word that's found in the title of an attachment, the name of the customer, or the invoice or other transaction number, and pull a result. As soon as type multiple words from the title of the document, I get "No results" populating. I know that this function should be pulling all results, especially when you type the complete title of a file you've attached, so I've passed this along for review.

In the meantime, I'd like you to submit feedback to our product development team on this as well. If you navigate to the Help menu in QBDT, then select Submit Feedback Online, you'll be able to follow the prompts to share your thoughts. It's important that the features you know and love work as expected, so your feedback on this is important. It may result in an improvement in a future update!

Thanks for bringing this to my attention. If you have any additional feedback or questions, don't hesitate to reach out.

Document Centre Search

Well, at least the search criteria should be able to catch and find the name of the document or a part of the name of the document. As a software designer, this is not hard to do.

Linking the search to OCR scanned documents and OCR results can be a bit more complex, but having software that is paid monthly and without a working function is not good.

Many thanks,
