eport exported to excel will not open. Excel says, cannot open in protected view. Never had this problem before.

We can disable the Protected View feature in Excel, Bellissa.

Excel's Protected View feature opens documents in read-only mode, which prevents any edits. Files from the SmartVault drive are classified as "Files from the Internet" and automatically open in Protected View. While this feature helps protect your computer, it can slow down the opening of Excel files from SmartVault. Disabling Protected View for these files will allow them to open more quickly.

  1. Click on File and then choose Options.
  2. Select Trust Center, then click on Trust Center Settings and go to Protected View.
  3. Uncheck the box that says Enable Protected View for files originating from the Internet.

If the problem continues, contact the Microsoft Excel Support Team for any additional questions regarding Excel.
