QuickBooks Desktop has download links available for the most recent three years of the product, meaning 2017, 2018, and 2019. This is in an effort to make sure our customers have the most up-to-date information and calculations within QuickBooks so transactions are entered correctly.

There are a couple of options available to you in this case to continue using the 2013 version. The first is to check on your old laptop to see if you can find the downloaded installer file for 2013. If you have that, you can try transferring it to a USB or external drive to bring over to your new laptop. From there, you can try installing the file.

The second option is to use the installation disc that came with your 2013 product if you have it. I know not all new laptops have a disc drive, but you can consider using an external disc drive that connects via the USB port should you need. If those two options don't work for you, consider upgrading to the newest version of QuickBooks Desktop. The 2019 version has new features that might be just what you need to make your business run even more smoothly. You can only convert data from QB Desktop US version to QB Desktop for Mac. If you are using QB Desktop CA version, you may consider purchasing a 3rd party conversion service. Otherwise, you should start a new company file from scratch. Another potential issue is your macOS. QB Desktop 2013 supports Mac OS X v10.7 (Lion) or v10.8 (Mountain Lion). You may need to upgrade your QB Desktop year version to run on your Mac.
