Welcome to the Community! It's great to see that you're now taking advantage of the flexibility and other features that QuickBooks Online has to offer. Migrating from QuickBooks Desktop to QuickBooks Online is a straightforward process, but I know that there are many moving pieces to keep track of. I can help shed some light on this for you.
When converting from QuickBooks Desktop to QuickBooks Online, the majority of the data is transferred automatically, while some things have to be manually reentered into QuickBooks Online. This is due to Desktop having some different features than the online version. One example is historical payroll information. The current year's payroll data will be transferred to QuickBooks Online as year-to-date lump sums, but the prior year data won't.
