I recently added a GL account to track a new revenue stream. While it is on my profit loss statement, it is not properly linked to my HST summary detailed report. Please advise how I can correct this, thanks,
Hi, clgreen64. When creating a new GL account to track your revenue stream, it’s important to make sure the account and its related transactions are properly set up so they appear in the HST Summary Detailed Report.
Here’s how to properly add sales accounts to the HST Summary Report:
Once your account is set up, record a sample transaction using the new revenue account and apply the correct HST tax code. Then, rerun the HST Summary Detailed Report to confirm that the new account appears as expected.

Hi, clgreen. I've added information regarding your sales account not linking in the HST Summary detail report.
When you add a new General Ledger (GL) account for tracking revenue, it shows on your Profit and Loss Statement because this report categorizes accounts directly from your Chart of Accounts.
However, the HST Summary Detailed Report works differently. It tracks transactions based on tax codes applied during sales or purchases. If those transactions don’t have an HST tax code applied, they won’t appear in the report.
To fix this, I recommend reviewing individual transactions recorded under this revenue account (e.g., invoices). Ensure that each transaction has an HST tax code applied (e.g., HST on Sales). If any tax codes are missing or incorrect, update the transaction to include the proper tax code.
Once you've updated your transactions, check the HST Summary reports.
Here's how:
