Hi allanri,

It's great to hear that you're making use of both the computer and mobile app to work with your QuickBooks Online data. With both of these options, you can be sure you have access to your account when you need it, including if you'd like to enter a quick transaction on the go. I can explain why you're not seeing the bill and its payment in the QuickBooks Online mobile app.

The QuickBooks Online mobile app is a simplified portal for QuickBooks Online, offering a few of the basic features for your business. There are some limitations to the app, such as only seeing a certain amount of reports, not having access to payroll, and not having access to bills, which is why you won't see them there.

The important thing when using the app is to make sure that you're using the same login details that you use when you login on a computer and choosing the same company to work in if you have multiple that use the same login details. If you are, then you can have confidence you're working in the same account and information will be shared between the two portals. To see your full set of information, a browser or the QuickBooks Online app for Windows/Mac is the login method to use.

Feel free to share your thoughts about this as feedback using the steps outlined in the How do I submit feedback? article while logged in on a computer or using the mobile app's feedback feature which is typically in the settings or help area.

If you have questions or concerns about your subscription or login details, I recommend contacting QuickBooks Online support using one of the following methods so that we can securely gather your information and work with you on this.

Schedule a Callback or start a Chat: click (?)Help in the upper right > type and enter "Contact support" into the QB Assistant > click Contact Us > explain your situation > click Let's Talk > choose Get a callback or Start a Chat.

Social MediaFacebookTwitter, and Instagram.
Support hours are from Monday to Friday between 9a.m. and 8 p.m. ET.

Scheduling a callback or starting a chat can be completed directly through QuickBooks Online while logged in on your computer. Feel free to give us a shout.

Take care.

So I gather that bills are not visible in the online app, which is a pity.  I wanted to take a picture of the bill, to add to the transaction, but I guess I can't do that.  Makes the app a lot less useful.

I don't see anywhere where I can actually look at my bank register in the app ... is that not possible either?  I can see transactions from the bank that have been matched, but not (uncleared) transactions that I have entered.  Is this expected?

Hello again. That's correct. The QuickBooks Online app doesn't show you your bill information. However, you can still use the Receipt Snap feature to take pictures of your bills to process for your books. Whether you're entering the image as a bill or an expense, the mobile app will prompt you to log in on your computer to categorize the transaction anyway, so it's completely possible to still use this feature for both expenses and receipts. Just choose from the Document Type drop-down while reviewing the information via your computer. To see a full set of options, including other ways to input the images with the Receipts feature, I recommend checking out this article: Capture and categorize expense receipts and bills in QuickBooks Online

As for the bank register, it sounds to me like you're looking for the Chart of Accounts, which would be accessed via the Accounting tab when logged in on a computer. As you've noted, it's possible to see the bank feed connections using the Transactions feature in the app, but the full bank register is not visible. This is another area that you'll want to log in on the computer to work with as it's also not available in the mobile app.

Another option for these situations if you're not keen on logging into a computer all the time is to use a mobile browser to access the full version of QuickBooks Online. This may present its own challenges depending on the size of your device screen, but it's something you can consider to work with bills and the chart of accounts outside of the office.

I'll be around if you have more questions.
