I'm having trouble importing data from a CSV file. The project number is not being recognized. Can someone help me?

I'm importing a CSV file that includes a column for Project Number, but QuickBooks doesn't recognize the project. I already have the project created in the system.

QuickBooks Online only recognizes specific column formats depending on the type of data you're importing, Angela.

Please note that the Project Number column is not currently supported in QBO, as each bank transaction, invoice, bill, or other data follows a particular format upon importing. With this, you can submit feedback to our development team to help improve your experience using QBO.

Here’s how:

  1. In the Gear icon, click Feedback
  2. Enter your comments and suggestions.
  3. After that, hit Next to submit.

To ensure transactions are placed to the right project, you can enter the accurate customer or project in your CSV file for invoices and when categorizing your bank transactions. For bills, manually assign them within QuickBooks to your existing project.

When managing and tracking your projects in QBO, maximize the Project Profitability Summary report and customize it to view the income, costs, profit, and profit margin alongside the customer information.
