The CRA has recently tightened its validation requirements. If you're filing as a representative, you must include a 7-character Representative Identifier (RepID) that's different from the Business Number. Without it, the CRA will reject the file.
To add RepID in your QBO, here's how:
- Click the Gear icon and select Payroll Settings.
- Go to Federal Tax.
- Click View/Edit next to the Business Number field and complete authentication.
- Enter your 7-digit RepID in the designated field.
- Click Save.
