Hello amber14,
I'm excited to hear that you've learned about one of our newest features, the Cash Flow Planner, and that you're looking forward to using it. I'll gladly go over this with you.
The Cash Flow Planner is an intuitive tool that uses your historical and current data to predict your money movement for a three-month period. This tool was designed with business owners in mind, and we've recently begun rolling it out to customers. In light of that, don't worry that you're not seeing it in your account quite yet! It's on it's way.
In the meantime, here are some of our articles to get you better acquainted with this new feature. Feel free to read them over.
Feel free to stop by again if you have more questions! :)
is it available in canada as of october 15 2020
Is there something I need to do to turn on the CashFlow menu? A number of my clients have it available within our firm, and very few do not. Is there a reason for this?
Hi there. Thanks for reaching out about this. QuickBooks gives you the flexibility to turn the Cashflow Planner feature off and on and I'll show you how. Here are the steps:
Scroll down and locate the Cash Flow Dashboard Widget portion.
From there, press the radio Turn on/Turn off button.
With this info, you can check with your client's accounts and make the necessary edits. Let me know if you have questions.
what if we don't see it in the Quickbooks Labs list? should we ask support to be added?
Hello SJ12,
Thanks for joining us on this thread. Don't worry, I can shed some light on how the Cash Flow Planner in QuickBooks Online works and why you might not be seeing it.
The Cash Flow Planner was a feature that could be toggled in the QuickBooks Labs section of the books when it was still in beta, but it has since been moved outside of that area because it's not a beta feature. The Cash Flow Planner is now a default in new accounts and appears automatically in the left-hand menu as Cash Flow. However, the feature disappears when your have multicurrency turned on.
If your account has multicurrency, that's the reason you're not seeing the Cash Flow Planner. Since it's not possible to turn off multicurrency, there isn't a way to toggle that feature back into your account. What I recommend is submitting feedback to our product development team using the steps in our How do I submit feedback? article to let them know that this feature would be beneficial for you even though you have multicurrency turned on. To keep on top of new additions to the program, feel free to bookmark our QuickBooks Online Feature & Product Updates page.
If you'd like to have a feature like the cash flow planner although you have multicurrency turned on, what you can do is check out the Apps tab in QuickBooks Online to see if there's a partner application that can work in the same way. If you search and find one that interests you, simply click it to see information about the app, contact details where you can ask more questions, and reviews from other users.
I hope this has helped clear things up. I'll be here if you have more questions. :)
This kind of situation is what often leads to frustration with QuickBooks. They provide extensive information about a new feature, prompting users to eagerly invest time and effort to implement it. However, after dedicating a significant amount of time, only later do users discover that the feature isn't accessible when multi-currency settings are enabled. Why couldn't they make this info easier to find. I have wasted so much time on things similar to this on QBO
