Letting staff create their own reports

Hello Phil,

QuickBooks Desktop is a versatile program that makes it easy to manage users on the account. I'll be happy to steer you in the right direction so you can get back to doing what you love.

Based on what you've described, I encourage you to add a user that has a selective user to your account and manually choose what you'd like for them to view. Here's how:

1. Navigate to the Company menu, then select Set Up Users and Password and then Set up Users.
2. Click on Add User...
3. Enter the User Name, Password, and Confirm Password fields, then select Next.
4. On the Access for user: (username) window, select which area of QuickBooks the user has access to, then select Next.
   • If you choose Selected areas of QuickBooks, you can customize the restrictions for different areas of the company file for the newly created user by selecting No Access, Full Access, or Selective Access.
5. Once you're done, select Finish.

Good morning James - thanks for the feedback, but not quite what I was looking for.

I would like to have the individual consultants to be able to generate their own reports, to monitor their own time.

At present, I believe that in QB Times only individuals identified as managers can generate these reports.  But if there are other solutions, great.

What kind of business do you run? Consider having a project management app.

We are involved in providing support to individuals with challenges seeking job placements.

As we work with a group of independent consultants, the owner has suggested looking for a mechanism for each consultant to self-manage their own work, within QuickBooks Times (which we just started using last month).

I don't think we are ready for a project management platform at this time, but good thought.
