Multi user mode not working

We have QB Enterprise Desktop installed on our server. We have 5-6 users and we keep blocking each other and the person doing the blocking has to log out then back in. I have verified that the "blocker" is not doing a task that would prevent anyone else from working. Examples;

I have a user that does not have access to payroll and when I'm doing payroll I'm notified that she is performing a task preventing me from working on mine. All she has open is a customer estimate. 

One person is working on an invoice and being blocked by other user. I go to that persons screen and they have no pages open in QB or no pages that have anything to do with the others task.

 

I receive multiple err messages, I dont have the exact wording but its basically: I can't even open qb because the file is in use or another user is using data that prevents you from performing your action

My IT company has spent copious amounts of time trying to fix this. This can happen 10 times a day or 10 times a week and I'm at my wits end and ready to switch software entirely. This has been going on for approx a year. IT said maybe they can install the software on a single computer instead of the server but that sounds risky to me incase something happens to that computer.

Does anyone have any suggestions?

Thanks for reaching out to us here.  Receiving error messages when attempting to work in Multi User mode in QuickBooks, can have a negative impact on your day.

 

When you see an error indicating another user is doing something, it typically means the user is working on a task that is limited to one user at a time, even though you're in multi-user mode.  To learn more about errors that block you from accessing your QuickBooks file, click here

Multi user mode not working

Hello, per my note above I verified on both pages what is being worked on and the user blocking is NOT doing a task that is limited to one user. Ex, Other user has nothing open on their screen, how can they be blocking me? Other user doesn't have access to payroll, how are they blocking me? One user only has an estimate open and another user is creating a p.o, how can they be blocking them?
