Let's sort this out and ensure all financial transactions from last year are properly downloaded and recorded in QuickBooks Self-Employed (QBSE) in time for tax filing, fjaume.

Before doing so, please let me know the name of your bank. Additionally, what's the specific error message you receive after downloading? This will allow me to check our system for any reported issues related to your bank.

In the meantime, let's perform troubleshooting steps to resolve this. Let's start by accessing your account through an incognito window to eliminate webpage-related issues. Sometimes, numerous cached files can cause the browser to behave unexpectedly.

You can refer to these shortcut keys to open an incognito window in all supported browsers:

  • Mozilla Firefox: CTRL + Shift + P
  • Microsoft Edge: CTRL + Shift + N
  • Google Chrome: CTRL + Shift + N
  • Safari: Command + Shift + N

Once done, clear the cache on your regular browser. Also, please note about the system-supported browser for the best and most secure experience.

Moreover, you might want to review this material for guidance on organizing your transactions accordingly: Categorize transactions in QuickBooks Self-Employed.

Feel free to inform us in the Community if you have additional questions about downloading transactions in QBSE. If you happen to come across any difficulties while managing your records, reports, and taxes, let me know and I'll help you out.

Getting your transactions into QuickBooks is crucial for accurate tax reporting, fjaume. I'm here to ensure your CSV file aligns perfectly with QuickBooks' requirements so you can download your bank transactions for tax reporting.

Before uploading your CSV file, you'll want to ensure data is in the correct format. With this, you can fine-tune the formatting by following the information below:

  • Remove any zeroes (0) from the file. Leave those cells blank.
  • Correct any transactions that display numbers in the Description column.
  • Remove the word "amount" if it appears in the Credit or Debit column header. They should only read "Credit" and "Debit" without the word "amount."
  • Make sure the dates are in one format. We recommend you use: dd/mm/yyyy.
  • Mac users must save the file as a Windows CSV file.
  • Some banks add the day of the week in the Date column (for example, 20/11/2018 TUE). You need to remove the day of the week.

For additional information regarding the CSV file format provided by your bank for transaction uploads into QuickBooks, please refer to the following article: Format CSV files in Excel to get bank transactions into QuickBooks.

If you're still unable to upload your bank transactions, I recommend reaching out to our Live Support Team. They possess the necessary tools to investigate this issue further and provide additional steps to upload your bank transactions into QuickBooks.

To reach them follow the steps below:

  1. Click this link.
  2. Choose QuickBooks Self-Employed and enter your question.
  3. Select Continue and follow the instructions to sign in to your account to connect with an expert.

You can also verify their support hours to make sure they are available to help you promptly.

Furthermore, I will share a link on using rules to automatically categorize transactions from your bank. For more details, open this link: Create rules to speed up reviews in QuickBooks Self-Employed.

If you have questions or need assistance regarding banking features or any other related inquiries within QuickBooks, please don’t hesitate to return to our forum. I’m always available to provide guidance and answer your questions.
