I love that you're using Square and QuickBooks Online together to manage your books. Being able to connect Square to import you transactions into QuickBooks Online is a great way to keep data entry simple for your business's books. Knowing how to best approach this situation is going to depend on how which app you've used to connect Square to QuickBooks. There are a number of apps you can choose from to connect, such as the Sync with Square app. If you're using that option, the Sync Square with QuickBooks Online article outlines how you can import up to 18 months of prior transactions. Check out the "In addition to new transactions, can I import prior transactions from my Square account?" section of the article.
If you're using a different app, I recommend checking in with the app developer to find out the options. You can find out how to reach support for your app by following these steps.
It's important to connect with the right team as each app is developed by different providers and may have different functions. The appropriate support agents will be able to help you figure out how to download more of your transactions from before September 12.

I am using Sync with Square.
I followed the instructions and ran a manual import from Jan 1, 2020 - Sept. 11, 2020 but the only imported transactions from April.
Is there a delay in the import? Should I wait a day before trying another manual import?

I haven't heard of any issues with delays, but feel free to try importing the transactions again if you're still not seeing them. If you're still having trouble, I recommend contacting QuickBooks Online support. The Sync with Square app was developed by Intuit, so that team will be able to help you get back on track.
