I am trying to update my payroll for the July 1 2025 deductions, but it is not updating. Is it available yet?
Updating your QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT) program is essential to ensure your software always has the latest components and fixes, @mary53.
The latest tax tables are only available in QuickBooks Desktop 2024 or Enterprise Solutions 24.0. According to the current tax table version details, the payroll tax table update 12034003, effective from January 1, 2025, to July 31, 2025, already supports any deductions applicable as of July 1, 2025.
If you’re unable to update your payroll due to an error, you will need to send your payroll data to resolve the issue. Also, please make sure that your Tax table is up to date.
Before sending your payroll data, please ensure that you have updated your QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT) to the latest release and create a backup copy of your company file.
Once done, follow the steps to send payroll data:
If you don’t see this option, follow these steps instead:
After that, click Get Payroll Updates again.

I do have quick books desktop 2024, but normally in the past the payroll update always changes July 1st. Why is it now July 31st?
My tax table version right now says it is from 01/01/25 to 06/30/25
And the version is 12034003
And i did receive an email from Intuit Quick Books yesterday, June 24 saying
Hi QuickBooks Customer, The July 2025 payroll tax table update is now available for QuickBooks Desktop 2024. Update your software before July 1st, so that QuickBooks Desktop can continue to accurately calculate payroll. |
What's New? |
|
If you are using QuickBooks Desktop 2024, you can download your update now in product: |
The easiest way to do this is to set up automatic updates so that QuickBooks downloads payroll updates automatically as soon as they are available. |
You can also download the latest payroll update anytime while in QuickBooks:
|
Please be advised that there will be no web patch available for download. You must update the tax table from within the product. |
Once you have downloaded the update, the new payroll deduction amounts will be reflected once you run payroll after July 1, 2025. |

Thanks
Hi FVP-Packers
No unfortunetly it was not resolved. We went over some steps several times
and no updates at all.
After I restarted my computer i lost the chat but they did email me asking if it worked.
I will try the steps again today before answering and if it does not update hopefully there is
another solution
Have you had any luck with updating the payroll updates for July?
It seems doing the reset update under the help/windows desktop update worked for me.
