Printing an Existing grouped item

I created an estimate in QBD and used the grouped item function so i could see the pricing but the client wouldnt. Now the job is T & M and i need to be able to show everything. Is there an easy way to convert a grouped line item to be ungrouped? or show when printed/ emailed.

Or can i export my screens view to excel?

Printing an Existing grouped item

Hi StevenPerryCustomCarpentry.

Creating grouped items is a great way to save time by adding just one line item to an invoice instead of multiple. I'd be happy to help go over how to display all the grouped items on an invoice.

The great part about this is that it's an easy fix to show the items in a group and that you can turn it on or off by just changing one thing. In order to have the individual items in a group show on your invoice is by pulling up the group in your item list and clicking the box print items in group. To get to your item list you just need to go to List>Item List to access it. Once that is selected any invoice you send out will show each item in that group as well as the cost of each one.

If you have any questions let us know and we'd be happy to help.

But what about existing estimates, I found that box to click on but it doesn't seem to change it for existing estimates i have created.

Hi again StevenPerryCustomCarpentry.

That check box will only show for new invoices or estimates and not existing ones already made. If you need to show this information to the client I recommend deleting the old estimate and sending them a new one with that box checked so they can see all the items in a group.

Hi again.

The item list screen is not one of the places where printing was set up to be used. If you wish to make a copy of what you're seeing in your Item list you can either use a tool such as the snipping tool that should come loading on your computer if you have Windows 10 or another third party app that can print your item list. You can look through some of the third party apps by going to our Third party apps page to find some. Before picking one however you should make sure that it works with your version of QuickBooks and works with the Canadian version.

let us know if you have any questions and we'd be happy to answer them.
