QB Running as Remote App asks for Admin Credentials to Run

Hello, hoping someone can help me with this issue I came across.

We run QB as a remote app, and when we run it, we keep getting blocked by a UAC popup for admin credentials.

The user will open the remote app, log in with their domain credentials (this works fine).
Then QB opens up and a popup comes up asking for admin creds (see attachment).

I'm not sure why this prompt is coming up, and it only accepts credentials from a domain admin (so the UAC is running from the server-side, as users have local admin already).

If I enter our domain admin creds it works, but then a week later we run into the same issue when it wants to re-authenticate.

Looking for advice on what settings or something that we need to change. Clearly something is not working correctly on the server end.

QB Running as Remote App asks for Admin Credentials to Run

I was able to resolve this issue after looking at another website. Posting the resolution in case anyone else comes by this.

I had to change the services that are running on the server to not run as the default QB user, and instead run as local system.

QB Running as Remote App asks for Admin Credentials to Run

Hi there Red_Orange,

Making sure that your server is set up correctly is important to make sure you and your team can work as effectively as possible. QuickBooks Desktop is a great tool to help you with your bookkeeping that's able to be used by multiple computers on a server. I can point you in the right direction.

The error that was seen in the screenshot that you've posted would be caused by your server itself, and not the QuickBooks Program. In order to get this error resolved, I recommend reaching out to your local IT professional, as they'll be able to assist you with setting up your server and get through these messages.

If you have any other questions about QuickBooks, feel free to reach out here.
