QBO: When Matching, not all transactions are not shown.Yes, yes, the filter - this will only filter what is being displayed. It will not add transactions that the software is holding back from displaying.
Intuit, please get your programmers to display ALL transactions for the filter settings. Just because a transaction is greater value than what i am trying to match it should still be shown - because IT COULD BE THE MATCH!
This would SOLVE the foreign exchange issue that has never been fixed.
Just give us the chance to see ALL transactions!

Hi JamesM4,
Thanks for the reply and recommendation to contact support.
The issue: simply put, when I click MATCH - QB applies a filter to the transactions listed. In certain circumstances, the transaction (sales receipt auto generated by Shopify) does not appear on the list. This is most noticeable and a problem when I am trying to match a single transaction that was originally in USD. I know the transaction (sales receipt) is in the system because when I there are several transactions to be selected for a larger value, the previously hidden sales receipt is now visible.
I spent over 3 hours on the phone with a very nice person about three years ago. Together we clicked, filtered, used difference browsers, etc... They could not understand WHY what was happening was in fact happening. The issue still exists from that time, so why would I spend more time at the same support level.
I am willing to spend time with someone at QB who could authorize a proper investigation and ultimately a change/fix.
Please let me know how to proceed.
Thanks
Ian
I called help as suggested. A VERY helpful and kind person indicated that nothing can be done.
Sad really! An issue for soooooo many people could be solved by allowing transactions greater than the value being matched to be displayed.
Oh well. I heard there is other accounting software.
Hi EAN_CA,
In order for QuickBooks to match transactions, they need to have the exact date and amount. Transactions with foreign currency, may need to be revalued, so they can be matched with your books. In addition, you can create Bank Rules, so QuickBooks will automatically categorize the transactions for you based on the rules you set.

Hi Trish,
Thank you for commenting. I am not expecting QB to Match when values do not match. However, I would like the opportunity, when selecting 'manual' match, to have sales receipts of greater value than the deposit to be visible on the list.
My team has created a work around - we now leave payments from USD PayPal customers in the account until a minimum of two transactions occur. This way the deposit into account will be greater value than the individual purchases. They will appear on the Match list and can be selected.
Hopefully, that last paragraph can help some of the other people who post with similar issues.
