Best PDF to CSV converter for BMO debit and credit statements

Hi there,

I have a large gap in transaction history in my Self-Employed QBO account - not sure why, perhaps a changed banking password?

I am now looking at having to convert my e-statements to CSV. I know there are a bunch of different apps, but I'm hoping to find feedback on which is best. I would love to not have to do a bunch of reformatting.

I bank with BMO, so perhaps there is a converter that works well specifically with their e-statements?

Also, would be great if it was free, or had a trial that allowed me to get through enough statements to cover about 10 months for 2 accounts. I have access to Adobe Acrobat, however it looks like I will have to use Adobe to convert to an Excel file, then use Excel to convert to CSV - I do not use Excel, I use OpenOffice, so I'm assuming that I will be creating a bunch of formatting issues during that last step.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated - and if I have to pay for a good converter that will save me a tonne of headache, then so be it.

Cheers!

Best PDF to CSV converter for BMO debit and credit statements

Hi Sea-Bot,

It's great to have you reach out in the Community. The program enables you to reach your accounting goals using the powerful features offered in the program. I'll be happy to share more info and help steer you in the right direction so you can achieve your goals with ease.

Changing the banking password will pause the automatic downloading of transactions into QuickBooks. You'll have to update the bank login info in QuickBooks. Based on what you've described, I see you already have a good grasp of what's going on. That being said, I recommend searching for third-party apps on our site www.apps.com. Otherwise, I'll also leave this question open in the Community so other members can chime in and share their workarounds and which best app to use in order to achieve your goals.

Let me know if this info helps. I'll be one message away in case you have additional questions. Otherwise, I wish you a great rest of the day.

Thanks,

Using it now - definitely has some issues. Didn't seem to read the PDF past page 1. I found a work around by saving that page as a separate file, but it still had some issues reading all the transactions from those 2nd pages, whereas the 1st pages were pretty much flawless.

Definitely has saved me some time, and Ive just used the free version for now, so I guess I cant complain too much. It still seems like it needs some polishing though.

Cheers

Hi, I wrote a tool specifically designed to parse bmo e-statements into tsvs. I prefer openoffice over excel too

It works fine with multi page statements and multiple statements
