Reconciling payroll when bank statement lumps them together

It's great to have you here in the QuickBooks Community, @shipchick.

I can share some insights about this concern. When you process Direct Deposit for multiple employees, the system will create a bulk deposit for the sum of all cheques. You can use this to match with what's cleared in the bank statement.

Follow these steps in your QuickBooks Desktop account:

  1. Go to the Banking menu.
  2. Click Bank Feeds, then select Bank Feeds Center.
  3. Select your preferred bank account.
  4. Click the Transaction List.2.PNG
  5. Locate the transaction and select Match to Existing Transaction from the drop-down menu under the ACTION column.
  6. If you can't find a match, you can choose Ignore, and manually clear the Direct Deposit in your Chart of Accounts.

Just in case you have any questions about Direct Deposit in QuickBooks Desktop, please refer to these links:

Kindly update me with the result. I want to make sure this is taken care of and the issue with matching Direct Deposit entry is resolved. Have a good one!

Reconciling payroll when bank statement lumps them together

The problem is (and I'm using Desktop premier) the QB transaction is for each employee eg

split Joe $982, split Lee $1002, split Fred $740  but the Bank transaction is Direct Deposit  $2724 therefore I can not match the bank feed transaction to anything
