Hello again glenile!

Making sure you have all the information you need for your year-end payroll remittances is important and I'm here to help you track down the T5018 reports so you can get to work.

You're off to a good start with looking in the the reports section. I know there are a lot of reports to choose from and it can be a bit tricky to find the one you want sometimes, so I'll show you two quick ways to find the reports you need.

  1. Open up the Report Centre (accessed from the Reports menu) and enter T5018 into the search bar to see the results.
  2. Open up the Report Centre and choose Contractor from the left menu.

Choose from the options available to find the information you need. The following article is useful for seeing the ways to run and customize the T5018 reports so you can gather your information: T4A and T5018 forms It also highlights filing options to make sure you get your information to the government.

That should get you on your way, but give me a shout if you need anything else. I've got your back!

I appreciate the follow-up. Since you're not seeing the reports you're looking for or even the section I've mentioned, that likely means you're not using the Contractor edition of Premier. Since this is a contractor form, the report to pull is found in the Contractor or Accountant editions of QuickBooks Desktop.

Since you have QuickBooks Premier, you should be able to switch to the version of the program you need. Follow these quick steps.

  1. Select File from the top menu bar in QuickBooks Desktop.
  2. Click Toggle to Another Edition.
  3. Choose Premier Contractor Edition.
  4. Click Next.
  5. Review the edition you have selected and read the notes.
  6. Click Toggle.

This will automatically close the program and reopen it in the edition you've selected. You'll be prompted to re-enter your password on your company file if you have one and then you'll be good to go to the reports.

Give that a shot and let me know how it goes!

That's definitely odd and I want to make sure we get this sorted out. At this point, it'll be best to get in touch with the QuickBooks Desktop support team outside of community for further assistance. Being able to see what you're seeing and working with you in the moment will help us narrow down what's going on and get you back on track more quickly. Check out the Intuit QuickBooks Desktop software support policies article for support options and details.

Hi Glenile:
I just now noticed that I will be in the same position once 2020 is complete and I need to issue the T5018s.

Can you share the solution that you ended up with to take care of this issue?
