Unable to activate quickbooks pro desktop 2021 on windows

Hello,

 

I got a new pc as my old laptop was starting to fail.  So I have a windows 11 pc and its a asus vivobook.  First I ran into the print driver error as it needed an XPS printer.  This is not installed by default so I add to install it.  After this I reinstalled quickbooks and no more errors here.  Now my issue is when I try and active it just goes to a "Navigation to this webpage has been canceled".  I spent an hour trying to uninstall and do things with nothing working.  So I reinstalled windows as it was a new pc, nothing really on it.  I installed the xps driver first this time and no AV or anything.  Installed quickbooks pro 2021 desktop and im getting the same error with activation  Here is what I have found:

 

None of the kb's help or the quickbooks tool.  The issue seems to be due to it trying to use IE which does not exist in windows 11.  It seems like i can see it connect to the servers fine but it gets refused eventually.  Is there a way I can manually register this?  I have set the tls settings to 1.2.  I also went to help - quickbooks desktop help.  Here it says go online and i click on it and it gives me a bunch of script errors as its trying to use IE and then loads.  When I go down to contact us it says the browser is not supported and I should download edge or chrome.  So I cant even get to help as its trying to use IE.  Not sure where to go from here and I really need this working on my new pc as my old pc is dying.

 

One last thing, I did run wireshark to see of any traffic and I can see it going to the activation servers and i see the quic protocol being used over 443 but the payload is encrypted so i cant see anything.  It looks like the servers are denying the request.  This is telling my its not my pc issue but the activation server denying my request to activate.  Thats my thoughts anyways.  The logs are saying it cant reach the page but the handshake completes below right after it and i can see the request in wireshark so I know thats not valid.

They've blocked reactivation attempts for most outdated versions. You can use the QB Desktop 2021 trial version as a workaround.

We appreciate your efforts to activate QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT) 2021 on your new PC and for performing various troubleshooting steps on your end.

 

Your system is attempting to use Internet Explorer (IE) because QBDT 2021 requires Internet Explorer 11 (32-bit). You can find this detail in the Browser requirements section of this article: System requirements for QuickBooks Desktop 2021.

 

You can manually activate QuickBooks by following these steps:

 

  1. With QuickBooks open, navigate to the Help menu and select About QuickBooks.
  2. Press Enter + R + P when the QuickBooks logo appears. A manual activation window will open.
  3. Enter your validation code in the window. Contact us if you need to get a validation code.
