I just started the books but noticed early on that a credit card was showing in the chart of accounts. I found the other side of the transaction and deleted $400, but the credit card is still showing up as $400.
It's also affecting my balance sheet.
How do I get rid of this? Will making it inactive work?
Hi tonjunee,
Being able to balance your books and correct missing transactions is a must for all businesses. QuickBooks Online makes it easy to find transactions and hide accounts. I can help you with this.
If an account is showing a balance and you dont know where it's coming from the best way to find out is click on account history on the right hand side. In there it'll show all the transactions that are associated with it. From there you'll need to find any entries that were made incorrectly and either delete or correct them. If there are no posts in the account and it's still showing a balance I suggest troubleshooting your browser by clearing the cache and cookies or trying a different internet browser.
If you want to remove the account you can follow these steps to make it inactive.
If you continue to have issues with the account saying there is a balance I'd recommend contacting our support team using one of the following options.
Schedule a Callback or Chat: click (?)Help in the upper right > click Contact Us > explain your situation > click Let's Talk > choose Get a callback or Start a Chat. Support is available from Monday to Friday between 9 a.m. and 8 p.m. ET.
Social Media: Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram.
Have a great one!
Hi,
Thanks Nick for the response.
I was able to get a Quickbooks specialist on the phone. Just purged the account since it's practically brand new and all is good.
Cheers!
