Why do classes not show under 'All Lists' when I've already created two classes? I used the direct link from help to access them but now they're not visible under lists.

Hello jason85,

QuickBooks Online's class tracking feature is a great option for adding another level of organization to your books. Available in the Plus package, it allows you to easily add class to a transaction and manage your classes through the All lists menu. Since you're not seeing Classes in that menu, troubleshooting is in order. I'll walk you through it.

The first thing to consider is whether you're on the correct QuickBooks Online plan. For instance, if you were using Plus, but then downgraded, that's why you're not longer able to see the Classes option in the All lists menu. I see you've mentioned using a direct link to access your classes list, so it sounds to me like you are on Plus since you shouldn't be able to see the list at all in another plan, even with a direct link, but we can verify that in a few simple steps.

  1. Go to the Gear icon.
  2. Choose Account and settings.
  3. Select Billing & Subscription.
  4. Verify that the subscription tile says QuickBooks Plus.

If it does, you're good to go. If not, consider upgrading your subscription to have access to the class tracking feature. If you are on Plus, there's another area I'd like for you to check while we're in the settings. Follow these steps while still in Account and settings.

  1. Select the Advanced tab.
  2. Find the Categories section.
  3. Ensure that Track classes is On.
  4. If it's not, click the pencil icon to edit that section and then toggle it on.
  5. Hit Save.

Once you're sure all that is in order, try visiting the All lists page again. If Classes is still missing, try the following troubleshooting steps.

Doing each of these steps ensures that QuickBooks Online isn't bogged down by any temporary Internet data. Since it's a cloud platform, those kinds of things can affect the program, which is why we go into this kind of troubleshooting.
