Good Day,
I have just downloaded and installed Quickbooks Desktop Pro 2020. I reside in Canada and business is all done in CAD funds. My Accountant had a company file setup which I have imported. Accounts all appear to be in CAD funds but when I go into the Write Cheques function, it is showing in British Pounds. The only help articles I can find are about using multiple currencies, which is not what I need. I am wondering if there is a way to change the default currency setting, or if I need to re-install Quickbooks (perhaps I missed a setting somewhere along the way)? Thanks very much.

Hi there,
I'm happy to learn that you've upgraded to QuickBooks Desktop Pro 2020. It's important you're able to take advantage of the program's latest features. I'd be glad to give you a hand and make sure you're on the right path.
Based on what you've described, I recommend checking to make sure your account is set up using the right currency. Here's an article which shows you how: Set up and use Multicurrency. Another factor to consider is the language setup on your computer. If your computer language is set to British English, QuickBooks may pull that information and start showing you British Pounds instead. I recommend checking your computer and QuickBooks settings just to make sure.
If all your settings are correct, I recommend making sure you downloaded QuickBooks Canada. Here's a link that'll take you to the right place for Downloading QuickBooks Desktop. Give this a try and if you have questions, I recommend contacting our support team using this link. Otherwise, feel free to leave a comment below. I'll be on standby.
Thank you very much for the prompt reply. Changing the region settings on my laptop to make sure it was English (Canada) instead of English (UK) did the trick. Thanks again!
