Thanks for reaching out about columns. QuickBooks Online is a great tool able to help you create and send transactions like invoices to your customers. I can provide some information about columns.
To edit which columns appear in transactions like invoices, go to the Gear Icon, then Custom form styles. Click on Edit beside the style in question, then click on the Content section. Click in the middle third of the preview, and you can click on the checkbox beside some of the fields to omit them. You can also select the Edit Labels and Widths to edit the width of each column.

To edit the width when adding expenses, you can hover over the breaks in between cells in the bar containing all the titles for the columns, and the program should allow you to click and drag the width of the columns.
