Can you customize a customer statement so it breaks out the gst from total invoice amount

Hi @userdonnanicks

Showing taxes is a very convenient feature that unfortunately QBO does not currently has. You'll only see the total tax amount in the invoice.

While the option to go back to the old Sales Tax Center is currently unavailable, I'll go ahead and take note of this. Our Product Developers are always looking for ideas from users on how to improve QBO.

Kind regards,

Noelia

Can you customize a customer statement so it breaks out the gst from total invoice amount

Hello userdonnanicks,

Welcome back! It's great to hear from you again, and I can see how having the tax breakdown included on your customer statements generated by QuickBooks Online would be useful. I'd like to clarify and go over the options so that you know how to move forward with this.

QuickBooks Online gives you the option to customize a few forms, mainly invoices, estimates, and sales receipts. On each of these, it's absolutely possible to show the sales tax breakdown by choosing the Tax summary option in the Content tab when editing a form style. This article goes into more detail about customization options: Customize invoices, estimates, and sales receipts in QuickBooks Online

Customer statements, however, work a bit differently. As you can see, they don't have their own specific customizable style. Rather, they loosely use the Standard style as the base for the form. However, you'll note that even if you select the Tax summary box on that form, it still doesn't break out the amount on the statement. That's because the statement is simply a list of the transactions for the customer, showing the total of each transaction and not their details. You can learn more about them here: Create and send customer statements in QuickBooks Online

I strongly recommend sharing your input about this as feedback with our product development team, which you can do using the steps here: How do I submit feedback? The feedback you leave is sent to that team for consideration as they continue to evolve the software. To keep in the know with new features, I welcome you to bookmark our QuickBooks Online Feature and Product Updates page.

I hope this has helped clarify the options, but please don't hesitate if you have further questions. I've got your back.
