Collapse & Expand Sections of a report

The parent company I work for has 2 sub-companies, each using a different version of Quickbooks desktop.

One uses Quickbooks Desktop Enterprise US version 18.0, the other uses Quickbooks Desktop Enterprise Canadian version 20.0.

The US version has little grey arrows next to section headers of reports (like a Balance Sheet Standard) so I can collapse and expand sections individually. The Canadian version doesn't have these. Only the collapse/expand button at the top, which doesn't let me choose sections individually.

Is this a difference between the US and Canadian versions? Is there a setting I just wasn't able to find in the Canadian version?

Collapse & Expand Sections of a report

Hello mashfield,

Thanks for being a member of the QuickBooks family on both sides of the border! I can see how having a feature appear in one version of the program but not another would be confusing. I'm here to help sort that out.

When it comes to what QuickBooks Desktop can do, there are some regional versions that have different abilities than others. This is one of those situations. To learn the different ways you can customize reports to see only the information you need, check out this article for the Canadian version of the program: Customize reports in QuickBooks Desktop

Seeing as this is an important and useful feature for your business, I recommend leaving feedback for our product development team. Doing this lets us know what we can do to enhance the program and keep up with today's business needs. Many current features started out as requests from customers who went to the Help menu in Desktop and chose Send Feedback Online. Follow these steps to leave your own comments for us.

Take care and have a great weekend!
