Welcome to the Community! While most transactions are recorded through sales forms and expenses, it's sometimes necessary to create journal entries to keep you records in order. QuickBooks Online allows you to create, edit and delete journal entries with ease in a few easy steps. I'll explain how to change the dates of your journal entries.
In order to edit the dates, you'll go into each entry and edit the date one at a time, as there isn't a way to change the dates of multiple entries all at once. Here are the steps to edit the journal entry dates:
- Navigate to the Chart of accounts, then click View history on the account that the journal entries were posted to.
- Locate one of the journal entries, clicking on it to prompt other buttons to appear. Select the Edit button.
- Once you're in the Journal entry screen, edit the date field to be 2019 instead of 2018.
- Select Save and close.
