Seeing the description on your Sales by Product/Service report is an important way to review your business information and stay organized. You may be seeing a few differences between the Detail report vs. the Summary report. Don't worry, I'll help explain what's happening.
The Sales by Product/Service Detail report shows your sales, grouped by product or service. It includes the date, transaction type, quantity, rate, amount, and total.
By contrast, the Sales by Product/Service Summary report will simply show your total sales for each product or service. It includes the quantity, amount, % of sales, and average price.
If you're seeing your description in the Detail report, this is simply due to the fact that this report by nature is more detailed and includes more information.

Thanks for the reply. Unfortunately, I use this report a lot and not having the product description is a problem for me. The desktop version of QuickBooks has a lot more flexibility.
