Can I change the invoice columns width on QB online?

Hi there,

Congrats on your first post in the Community. It's important you're able to change the invoice column widths and I'll show you how.

You can change the basic design, layout, and info that appears on your forms. Once you create your masterpiece, save it as a custom template so you can use it any time. To customize your invoice, follow the steps below:

  1.     Go to Settings ⚙ and then select Custom Form Styles.
  2.     Select New Style or click Edit nex to an existing invoice.
  3.     From here, you can click on the Content tab.

The content tab will allow you to adjust the labels and width on your invoice. Here's a screenshot for reference:

For more info on customizing your invoice, check out this helpful article:  How to Customize Invoices in QuickBooks Online. Feel free to ask other questions. I got your back.

Can I change the invoice columns width on QB online?

Excellent advice... but I can't carry it out ... I can't seem to activate the sliders.  My display differs slightly from your graphic in that the left margin of the sample invoice slightly overlaps the right hand number on the slider ... but the slider itself just won't let me select it, it seems.  Help!

Hello A_Canadian_eh,

I love that screen name and that you're using QuickBooks Online to manage your business's books. I'm glad my colleague's direction has gotten you to where you need to be to edit the invoice templates in the Custom form styles section, and now I want to make sure you're able to use the editing options in this feature. I'll get you started with some troubleshooting.

With QuickBooks Online being a cloud platform, when things don't seem to be displaying or working quite as they should, the first place we like to start troubleshooting is with the browser, app, or Internet. I've got a few steps you can try here; after each, see if you're able to use the editing features as outlined above. If it's still not working, try the next step.

When you've gone through those and things still aren't quite as they should be, having a chat with QuickBooks Online support is the next course of action. With tools like a screen share session or being able to accept screenshots when a screen share isn't possible, the support team can see what you're seeing to work through resolving the issue. Feel free to share with them the steps you've already tried when you reach out using one of the following options.
