You can change the look and feel of the invoice to add a column for sale tax:
1) Click the gear icon
2) Your Company > Custom form styles
3) New Style > Invoice
4) Content Tab
5) Click Activity section on the right side
6) On the left side check "Tax"
7) After saving mark the template as default

This will enable QuickBooks to automatically calculate the associated sales tax accurately, on all of your business forms.
