It's a pleasure to see you in Community. Welcome! QuickBooks Online provides the features you need to accomplish your bookkeeping goals seamlessly. Automatic transaction numbers can be automatically applied to your business forms. I'd be happy to show you how!
Follow these steps to sets your numbering preference;
1. Open your Settings ⚙ and select Account and settings
2. Click on Sales, then select the Edit in the Sales form content section
3. Turn on Custom transaction numbers
4. Hit Save, then Done.
You're all set! When you open an invoice or other sales form and select Edit, or Create a new invoice, you'll enter your starting custom number. All forms created following this, will automatically follow the sequence, once you've completed and saved the form.
