Hello userjoshua_dey,
It's important you're able to show the currency symbol on your invoice and I'll be happy to show you how. QuickBooks is a powerful program which makes it easy to track your transactions and stay organized.
In order to display the currency symbol on your invoice, you'd have to turn on the multicurrency feature. The multicurrency feature allows you to record transactions in a different currency. It's important to note that once you turn on multicurrency, you cannot turn it off or change your home currency. Make sure to only turn it off if you have bank accounts, customers, or suppliers that don't use your home currency. here's how to turn it on.
Once you've set this up, you'll be able to see the currency symbol on your invoice. I encourage you to give this a try and if you have questions, feel free to reach back to me in the comments below. I'm here to help.
This worked, now I see CAD on my invoice but how do I invoice in USD? I invoice in both currencies. Thanks
That's great news! If you're not using QuickBooks Payments you can invoice in USD once you've turned on the multicurrency feature. I encourage you to learn more about invoicing in different currencies using the info on this article here. However, if you 're using QuickBooks payments, you'd have to invoice using CAD since the payments platform only accepts CAD.

how do I turn off payments, I don't want this feature
You can turn off the payments feature by clicking the Gear icon > Account and Settings > Payments. From here you can turn off the payments feature. Have you turned on the feature before?
I'm in Canada, and I don't see the Multicurrency checkbox in settings. Please advise
Hello 12090848,
Thanks for joining us here.
If you don't see the option to turn on multicurrency in your company settings, it would indicate that your current QuickBooks product doesn't support this feature. Multicurrency is available in QuickBooks Online Essentials, Plus, and Advanced. Follow this link, if you would like to upgrade your subscription, and get started with multicurrency.
Feel free to reach back out, with any other questions. We would be happy to help!
