Hi d_cossee,
Welcome to Community! Multi-Factor Authentication is a dynamic way to keep your information secure. This is beneficial in verifying customer identity, with a unique one-time passcode to your device. QuickBooks Online connects your accounts with MFA to prevent fraudulent activity. However, it's also important that you're able to upload your Scotiabank statements, without delay. I suggest clearing cache on your browser, or try another browser such as Edge, Firefox, Google Chrome or Safari. If you get the same result please contact us, so we can look into your situation in more depth from our end.
Schedule a Callback or start a Chat: click (?) Help in the upper right in QuickBooks Online > enter "Contact support" > hit Contact Us > provide a brief summary of your situation > hit Let's Talk > choose Get a callback or Start a Chat.
Social Media: Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram.
Support hours are from Monday to Friday between 9 a.m. and 8 p.m. ET.
Feel free to reach back out if you have other questions. We're always happy to help!
Use MT Online or one of the converter tools (e.g csv2qbo) as a workaround for the time being.

This happens to me every time as well. I work for two separate business, both use Scotiabank, and this happens almost daily. The security prompts go to each of my bosses' phones and they're often on the road so it's a real hassle to get reconnected and often have to wait days to a week before they're in the office to reconnect. I've tried different browsers, incognito window, clearing the cache... just spent a half hour on the online support chat and they couldn't fix it either.. It's making it incredibly difficult to do my job.
On a separate note, I noticed there was a lot of missing transactions in QB - there was almost nothing for a whole year; it's a good thing I had the bank and credit card statements printed
Can someone please help figure out how I can stay connected. Is it because I'm working on two different businesses on the same computer and browser?
Hi there krisina_R,
It's vital that all your transactions are entered correctly for your bank balances to be accurate. QuickBooks Online is a great tool able to connect with different bans so you can import transactions to enter into your books. I can point you in the right direction for assistance with bank connection errors.
For help with bank connection errors, I recommend reaching out to the QuickBooks Online support team outside of the Community. They'll be able to do an analysis of the bank connection error with you in a secure setting to be able to best assist with troubleshooting, as well as collect the required information to notify our engineering team if the error still persists. You can reach them using these methods:
Schedule a Callback or start a Chat: click (?)Help in the upper right > type and enter "Contact support" into the QB Assistant > click Contact Us > explain your situation > click Let's Talk > choose Get a callback or Start a Chat.
Social Media: Facebook and Twitter
