How do I change my cover letter when emailing an invoice or statment

Hello RMCPC,

Welcome to Community!  I can understand the benefit of being able to personalize and customize your templates, in QuickBooks Desktop.  I would be glad to assist!

You can access the Letters and Envelopes Wizard from an invoice, the company menu, or from a specific Centre.  Opening the Wizard enables you to create a new letter template, edit a template, or import an existing Word document.  In addition, you can duplicate, delete, or rename existing templates.

Follow these steps, to open the Wizard from an invoice;

1. Select Customers, and choose Create Invoices

2. Click on the Send/Ship tab

3. Use the Prepare Letter ▼ dropdown menu and select Customize Letter Templates

Here's how to open it from a Centre;

1. Open the appropriate centre.

  • To open the Customer Centre, select Customers, then Customer Centre.
  • To open the Supplier Centre, select Suppliers, then Supplier Centre.
  • To open the Employee Centre, select Employees, then Employee Centre.

2. Choose the Customers & Jobs, Suppliers, or Employees tab

3. Select Word ▼ dropdown and select Customize Letter Templates.

You may prefer to open it from the Company menu;

1. Select Company, then Prepare Letters with Envelopes

2. Choose Customize Letter Templates.

Should you require additional assistance, please don't hesitate to contact our QuickBooks Desktop Customer Care team outside of Community. They would enjoy the opportunity to work with you personally, and ensure you're able to complete your QuickBooks goals without delay!

Feel free to touch base with us again, if you have other questions or concerns. We would be glad to help!
