Would there be a fee to switch from desktop to online? Would there be additional charges since we just renewed our licensing or would I loose the money that I just spent on that?
Hello Nichole11,
It's great to have you connect with us in the Community. I'll be happy to share more info about switching from QuickBooks Desktop to Online.
QuickBooks offers a free option that allows you to manually migrate your data from QBDT to QBO. However, there are third-party data migration apps that offer an automatic migration option for your data. You can search for these apps on our app store www.desktop.apps.com. I encourage you to check out the following article that shows you how to: Migrate from QuickBooks Desktop to QuickBooks Online with Intuit's internal tool.
Let me know if you have other questions as you go through the article. I'll be one message away in case you need anything else.
You can convert a QB Desktop file to QB Online for free. But you may need to buy a 3rd party service to convert data with specific requirements.
