Totaling invoices for the month

Since the new invoices came in (which are not user friendly at all), it doesn’t show me the outstanding total or the total paid. I’m trying to figure out how much income for the month of Sept and I would have to add all my invoices together.. that would take a long time as I have about 10-15 invoices daily. I have to be missing something here?

Also, why change something that was working so well.

Totaling invoices for the month

Hi, Lacey4a. You can navigate to the Sales transactions page and check the Sales widget right on top to quickly determine the total outstanding and paid invoices for September.

You can follow these steps:

  1. In your QBO account, click on My apps.
  2. Select Sales & Get Paid, and then Sales transactions.
  3. From the Date filter option, choose This monthLast 30 days, or Last month.
  4. From the Type dropdown, select Invoices.
  5. Check the widget at the top of the page for open, overdue, and paid invoices. See attached screenshot below.

Moreover, you can learn more about the recent change of QBO's overall design. Feel free to check out this article: Explore QuickBooks on the Intuit Platform.

Aside from the widget on top of the Sales transactions page, you can alternatively generate a report that shows overdue, paid, and unpaid invoices for the month of September. To help generate a report and customize it, refer to this guide: Create an invoices due on a specific day report.

On the other hand, if you're referring to how to individually check the outstanding balance of a single invoice using the Modern layout and its paid amount, here are the steps to follow:

  1. Open an existing invoice.
  2. View the Balance due and the Amount paid at the top right portion of the screen.
  3. This information can also be found at the bottom part of the invoice screen.

I understand navigating these recent changes can be quite a task. If you have further queries, feel free to give us a reply. Take care!
