Hi,
I am new at QuickBooks online. I am trying to get the breakdown of sales on the HST Return for the previous months. The HST collected and the input tax credit are showing on the report but not the breakdown of sales. My sales on the return is different from the Profit and Loss sales.
Thanks,
Jovill
Hi there,
Welcome to the QuickBooks Online family. I'll be happy to help steer you in the right path so you can get ahead with your work.
The GST reports calculates sales/revenue differently from the Profit and Loss. I encourage you to check the transactions included on your report. Here's how:
You can compare this detail report to your income reports to see which transactions are causing the difference.
Another tool that can help out here is the Transactions without sales tax report. To access it:
This will show you all transactions for the time period that either don't have a sales tax code or are marked Out of Scope. Give this a try and if you have questions, please contact our support team using this link. Let me know if you have other questions by leaving a comment below. I'll be on standby.
Hi JamesM,
"Click the amount under the Total column for Line 101 Sales and other revenue. This will pull a detail report of all the transactions that make up line 101 on the return."
I was able to get the The Receiver General Summary Report and there's no link to the Sales and other revenue or the Total. I am not able to pull the detail report.
Hello jovill,
Thanks for following up and for giving those steps a try. I want to make sure that you're able to see the sales tax details you need so you can make sense of the numbers in your books. I'll help you find a detail report that can show you the transactions making up your return.
In addition to the above steps for accessing sales tax reports, you can also access themright from the Reports Centre. I can show you how you can bring up the GST/HST Detail Report in that area, which I think will be a helpful report for you. Here are the steps.
You should now see a detailed list of transactions grouped by the line they're attributed to on the return. Feel free to check out the Customize reports in QuickBooks Online article to learn more customization options.
If you're still not seeing the details you're looking for, I recommend getting in touch with support to have a one-on-one conversation with one of our agents. That way, you'll be able to share what's happening as it's happening and get back on track more quickly. Here are the support options.
