My GST/HST reports are not showing installments I've made in line 110 on the report. How can I have the report use the account I created to track GST installments?
Thanks.
Hi joe-diadamo,
Welcome to Community! It's important that your sales tax payments are recorded accurately in QuickBooks Online. I'd be happy to provide some insight here!
When you set up Sales Tax in QuickBooks Online, the associated accounts will be automatically created in your chart of accounts. However, it sounds like you may have created another sales tax account. If this is the case, you'll need to move the associated transactions from the account you created, to the default sales tax account created by QuickBooks. To do this, you can create a journal entry or merge the accounts.
If you experience the same outcome, please don't hesitate to contact us outside of Community, for personal assistance.

Thanks for the quick response. Yes, I have a new sales tax account in the chart of accounts. What is the name of the default sales tax account created by QB? I can't seem to find it by searching on account name.
Hi joe-diadamo,
QuickBooks Online will create the GST/HST payable and suspense accounts when you turn on the sales tax feature. To learn more about default and special accounts click here.

Hi. That link lists many default and special accounts but does not list the account used for sales tax.
Hello joe-diadamo. Thanks for getting back to us. I'd like to make sure I'm on the same page as you. Could you elaborate more about the goal you're looking to achieve in QuickBooks so I can help steer you in the right direction?
Hi. I'm running the "GST/HST Summary Report". It correctly shows the GST/HST I have collected via invoices and the input tax credits, but it doesn't show the GST/HST installments I have made. Specifically, line 110 on the report has 0 even though I have made GST installment payments.
I created a new account to track GST installments - I would like the GST/HST reports to consider that account.
Thanks for elaborating. At this point, I recommend getting in touch with our phone support team so they can share your screen and have a visual reference of what you're seeing. You can get in touch using the details below:
You're more than welcome to keep me posted on how you make out. I'll be one message away.
Hello, I'm currently running the "GST/HST Summary Report." It accurately displays the GST/HST I've collected through invoices and the input tax credits. However, I've noticed that it doesn't reflect the GST/HST installments I've made. To be specific, line 110 on the report is showing a 0 balance even though I've made GST installment payments.
I've taken the step of creating a new account to track these GST installments, and my request is for the GST/HST reports to incorporate and consider this account in their calculations.
