Hi there skipster-helfric,
Thanks for reaching out and welcome to the QuickBooks Online community. You've come to the right place as the community has answers to many of your QuickBooks questions.
Making sure the GST number is accurate is important, especially since it shows up on sales forms once you've entered it into QuickBooks. Follow these steps to change it.
- Log into QuickBooks Online via a browser.
- Select Taxes from the left menu.
- Select Sales Tax if you're not immediately on that tab (note: Payroll tax will also show in the taxes tab if you are subscribed to payroll).
- Click the Manage sales tax button.
- Find the appropriate tax agency (e.g. Canada Revenue Agency).
- Click the downward facing arrow beside Add rate in the tax agency's section.
- Choose Edit agency settings.
- Edit the GST number.
- Save.
- Click Done to exit the manage sales tax centre.
And you're done! The correct number should now appear on your sales forms.
