Is it possible to enter sales data from my POS and have the sales tax collected on sales show in the sales tax report section? Currently it's only showing on the BS.

I'm currently entering the sales reports as a journal entry. The items included in the POS sales reports are sales, cash deposits, visa collected, gift cards, sales tax etc so using an invoice isn't possible.

You can register the transaction as sales receipt. You can use the importer tool if required.

Hi support-blacktus,

Welcome to Community!  QuickBooks Desktop if a valuable program that simplifies your daily tasks, so you can accomplish your daily bookkeeping goals with confidence.  I would be happy to provide more information with regards to entering your daily sales!

When entering journal entries, it's essential that the sales tax is applied to the line items, otherwise it won't populate on your sales tax reports.  However, you can create daily sales receipts to record your sales summary by cash, cheque or credit card.  Your first step would be to create a customer named Daily Sales, or as you prefer.  Once you've set up the customer you can proceed to create the Sales receipt to enter the total sales for the day, per item.  To get a better understanding of this process, click here.  Should you require assistance, please don't hesitate to contact us.  It would be our pleasure to work with you in real time, and assist you with accomplishing your QuickBooks goals!

Please don't hesitate to reach back out, if you have any other questions.  We would be glad to assist!
