Is there a way that you can create a GST Included Sales tax account?

I am trying to set up my quickbooks and I when I am writing up my Credit card, it is just easier if I can have a sales tax code that has GST included.   I don't always get receipts from the company and it is time consuming to pull the GST out.

Is there a way that you can create a GST Included Sales tax account?

Hello tara07,

Welcome to the QuickBooks Community! Thanks for taking the time to explain what you're trying to do. I can see how trying to pull the GST rates from each total would be time consuming and how having the program configured to understand that it's already inclusive of sales tax would be useful. I'll help you with configuring this option and show you how to use it.

Like with most configurations for QuickBooks Desktop, going into the preferences for the company file is where you'll want to start. Follow these easy steps.

  1. Select Edit from the top menu.
  2. Choose Preferences.
  3. Click Sales Tax from the left menu.
  4. Click Company Preferences.
  5. Check off the option Allow tax inclusive (gross) prices and costs to be entered.
  6. Click OK to save.

Configuring this setting will now give you the option Amts Inc Tax when you open or create a transaction. It's found in the top toolbar of the transaction window, beside Attach File. Check off that box and the program will do the calculations for you once you've selected the tax code and entered the information.

Give that a shot and let me know if you have further questions. I'm here to help!
