Processing a Partial Sales Tax Refund for PST

Hello,

 

We made a tax payment for the BC PST, and we received a refund cheque. When I go to the filed return in QBO, and enter the refund amount is the 'Record Refund' option, it grays out the #3 checkmark box in the Paid section. Is there a way to process this properly so that it appears properly as Paid? Please see image.

Thanks for reaching out to us here.  It's nice to hear that you've received a sales tax refund.  QuickBooks Online enables you to accurately record it, so your books remain balanced. I would be glad to assist!

 

Here's how to record the sales tax refund;

 

1. Navigate to Sales Tax, then open the Filings tab

2. Choose Filed from the All returns drop-down

3. Select Record refund 
4. Enter the account to apply the Refund to, the Refund date, and the Refund amount

5. Hit Record refund
