I have received a GST Credit cheque from CRA. How do I enter this into Quickbooks ?

Hi steve-hudey,

 

Welcome to Community!  It's great to hear that you've received a GST credit from the Canada Revenue Agency.  Recording this in QuickBooks Online can be done effortlessly.  I'd be glad to assist!

 

Here's how to record your refund;

 

1. From the left menu, open Taxes and then Sales Tax

2. Select the Filings tab, and then All returns from the drop-down menu

3. Click on Record payment from the drop-down list in the Action column and enter the appropriate Payment type

4. Select Payment if the number is positive, and Refund if the number is negative

5. Enter the Payment date, or the date on which you paid the CRA

6. Use the Memo field to include anything you want to remember about this refund

You'll see it in your Account History.
