Assigning a lead accountant - removeing accountant user to add new one

I work with assigning lead accountant for my team to help manage which staff member is the lead on each file.  I am trying to edit the lead back to me (firm owner) and I cannot.  Why is this happening?  I've following the instructions.

 

In addition to this issue, as a firm accountant user and primary admin, I am trying to remove the Tax Accoutant user since the client is changing tax accountant.   I cannot remove the user and our firm is the Primary admin (well a staff member from my firm).

Welcome to the Community. I'll be glad to steer you in the right direction so you can navigate the program with ease. 

 

To make sure we're both on the same page, are you looking to transfer the billing to your account? If so, please follow the steps below:

 

  1. Click the Gear icon and select Account and settings.
  2. Go to the Billing & Subscription tab and select the Allow billing transfer to your accountant link.
  3. Select the name of the accounting firm you want to transfer billing to.
  4. Once done, click Allow transfer.

The receiving accountant would need to accept the transfer using the steps below: 


       1. In QuickBooks Online Accountant, go to Settings and select Subscriptions and billing.

       2. In the Your subscriptions tab, click Add existing clients.

       3. Select the checkbox for your clients you want to add and select Add clients.

 

Let me know how you make out as you try this. As for the Tax accountant user issue, are you getting an error message?

Hi James, we are definitely not on the same page.   I did not talk about billing transfers.  So the info you sent is of no use.

 

I asked about editing Lead Accountant status in my QBOA

 

I am also asking to delete an Accoutant type user.   I have a client that has 2 accoutant user (max available).  We are one and KPMG is the other.   The client is changing Tax Accountant and needs to have KPMG remove, freeing up the Accountant user so we can invite the new Tax Accoutant.   My Staff is listed as the primary admin but can't take any action on KPMG's user.

Thanks for elaborating. Are you using QuickBooks Canada or the US version? Also, could you point me to the steps/article you've followed to edit the lead accountant status?
