Migration Error from QBD to QBO due to country difference

I have a Canadian version of QB Premier 2015, trying to migrate to QBO Malaysian version.

I tried downloading trial version of QB Premier 2024 to migrate from there, but I keep getting error email after uploading completes.

The email says:

We’re sorry. We couldn’t import your company file (XXX) into QuickBooks Online.
Sometimes this happens if there’s an issue with the data in your company file. Most often you can fix
import issues by rebuilding the data file and then restarting the export process.

I saw somewhere in this forum that it is due to different country version.
But there is no Malaysian version for QuickBooks Premier?
And I want to use QBO Malaysian version, not Canadian version.

Can anybody help? I have three different company files need to be migrated asap.

Any advice is fully appreciated. Thank you.

Migration Error from QBD to QBO due to country difference

You can only convert data from QBD CA version to QBO CA version. You will need to purchase a 3rd party conversion service or use a migration tool (i.e TPExporter for Desktop + TPImporter for Online).

Migration Error from QBD to QBO due to country difference

Thanks for reaching out to us, @Piepienella.

I see the inconvenience of encountering errors when migrating your company files. Worry no more. I'm here to address your concerns as I help you set up a new QBO account.

The error you received may appear if you're migrating data from QBDT to QBO directly, from one country to another. Please know that the migration of accounts only works for the same nation. For example, transferring company files from Canada to Malaysia may not be feasible due to the unique features available in each region.

QuickBooks Desktop is only available for countries like the US and CA. Therefore, it's unavailable in Malaysia.

To use the Online version, select the Asia Pacific and choose Malaysia in this link: Intuit QuickBooks. It will lead you to the available subscriptions.

Furthermore, check out this guide if you'd like to do the process within CA: Migrating from QuickBooks Desktop to QuickBooks Online with Intuit's internal tool.
