You have a QBO account and signed up a QBO Accountant account with the same email address?
We're here to help you, Scott_K.
I can definitely see where this would be frustrating for you, but I want to be sure you're able to regain access to the correct account(s) with the right login. From what you've explained it sounds as though you have multiple accounts associated with your login.
If you're needing your account to be a normal QuickBooks Online subscription instead of the Accountant version, you'll need to login to the account as a regular user instead of an Accountant/Firm user. It sounds as though you may have a regular user and an Accountant/Firm user set up with the same email address on these accounts which means that depending on how you login, or which username you're using, you may be viewing the account as an Accountant User or viewing it like you used to as a regular user.
First, it'd be best to login through our Intuit Account Managment site (accounts.intuit.com), to see which subscriptions are associated with which login/email. This way you can check which of your login profiles is associated with the QuickBooks Online Accountant account. Then from there, you can reach out to our QuickBooks Online Technical Support Team by visiting the 'Help (?)' icon > 'Contact Us' from your QuickBooks Online account, and chat in or schedule a call-back so our support can walk you through getting this taken care of.
All the best, and thank you for reaching out.
I did phone, and the help was sooooo much better than using the Chat option. Thanks for suggesting that.
