Hi vaughan1,
Being able to move your data from one company to another is what we try to provide to all our customers. I can help go over ways to import information into a new account.
QuickBooks Online makes exporting your information easy by giving you choices on what to export to. In QuickBooks Online the quickest way to export your information would be to export to Excel. This also allows you to fine tune what information you bring over. In order to export your information so you can move it to a new company file you can follow the steps in this article. Another option would be to look for a third party app that can assist you in moving your information from one account to another. You can access our apps page by clicking on Apps on the bottom left hand side of your QuickBooks Online account.
Hope this was able to help!
I want to import transactions. Will they only be journal entries imported? I want to do bank recs so wonder if I can with imported data?
You may import many transaction types (e.g JE, bank transactions, bills, sales receipts)
Will I be able to do bank recs with imported data?
Do you know if the QBO export of Journal actually export many transaction types (e.g JE, bank transactions, bills, sales receipts)
Will the export format be in the format required for the import?
If you are using the importer tool as I mentioned earlier, you will prepare the data with specific template

Do you know of any 3rd party migration services? Im in Canada.
Hi again vaughan1,
I'd be happy to clarify a bit more and go over the import process in QuickBooks Online.
While you can export a lot of information there are some things you aren't able to import using excel. One of those things would be transactions. You would need to manually make the transaction entries again in the new account for them to show. If you wish to import transaction information I suggest taking a look at our Apps page in your QuickBooks Online account that will show you a large variety of apps to best suit your needs. You can also look over the reviews of others to get a better understanding of what the app includes.
Hope this helps.
