Hi kateduhaime,

It's nice to see you in Community.  Welcome!  QuickBooks Online has the versatility you need to match your transactions effortlessly.  I'd be glad to assist!

You can match transactions between multiple accounts by splitting them.  Here's how;

1. Go to Transactions and then the For review tab

2. Select the downloaded transaction to expand the view

3. If the option in the Action column is Match, change the Find match to Categorize

4. Select Split next to the Add button

5. From the Category dropdown, select the accounts you want to split the transaction into

6. Enter an Amount and Customer for each split

8. When you're done, hit Apply and accept.

Here's a helpful guide for your reference, for matching transactions in QuickBooks Online.

I am not trying to categorize 1 transaction into multiple accounts, I am trying to match 2 transactions to 1 payslip.  The pay was direct deposited into 2 different bank accounts, so in my bank transactions there is 1 debit of $100, and 1 of $120 and I am trying to match them to the corresponding paycheque of $220. Advice?

I see. At this time, QuickBooks can match only one bank transaction to one QBO transaction. That being said, you can also exclude transactions from your bank feed and add them again in a way that adheres to the categorizing and matching requirements in QuickBooks. In the meantime, I'll also leave this post open so other Community members can chime in and share their perspective.
